Midnight Fusic is an alternative-rock band based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, comprised of four 20-year-olds with a psychedelic passion that has propelled them to take over stages at international music festivals, number 1 spots on local music charts, and a hit of 1 million streams on Spotify for their single ‘Lovesick’ all within a year.
The band consists of frontman & rhythm guitarist Arif Kamarudin, vocalist & lead guitarist Adrian Danial, self-taught bassist Firdaus Azmi, and Muaz Rabbani, who remarkably honed his drumming skills upon joining the band.
The indie-pop band have been busy this lockdown working on their brand new song, ‘I Don’t Wanna Dream Tonight’.
“The song is heavily influenced by Fleetwood Mac and the 1975,” said frontman Arif Kamarudin.
“The song came from a dream I had; there was a woman in white and she was headless. She was nice, but she just looked really creepy. The image was burned into my memory so I got the band together and made a song about it,” said Arif.
“The song wasn’t planned to be in their upcoming album, but it’s such a fun, random song, we’ve decided to include it as well,” he said.
The band looked at their contribution not as a job or task but rather an interesting creative process to keep the juices flowing while everything was shut down during lockdown.
