Born into a musical family, music has always filled the lives of brothers, Alistair, 22 and Aaron Nicholas, 21. From a young age, performing was in their blood.
Their mother, Juliana Nicholas is a renowned gospel singer who has sung in over 1000 churches all over the world with her own renditions of gospel music. Their father Sylvester, would soon realize that this talent would be present in their three children - Alex, Alistair and Aaron, too. Alex, the oldest, would sing in local bands and the two youngest, who would soon be known as Kings and Jesters, started off singing at high school events which blossomed their love of creating music.
Drawing inspiration from artists such as FKJ, Rex Orange County, Daniel Caesar and Boy Pablo, Kings and Jesters were able to define their sound and make music that appealed to them as well as their audience.
And all their music was made right from their bedroom, using FL Studio and a USB audio interface. Kings and Jesters would then begin to release music consistently starting in 2018 with their single “Everything”, an acoustic love song on YouTube.
“Everything” was inspired by a real life break up story of one of the band members. The support of their family was what helped them through the struggles of their music of not being heard and appreciated as they were just a couple of young boys making music out of their bedroom.
Since then, Kings and Jesters’ music has been featured in playlists all over. Their most recent song, “Not Another Love Song” would become their most streamed song and even streamed in countries all over Asia, from Japan to Indonesia.
The name of the song is of course ironic to one of their other songs, “Every Other Love Song”. This was to symbolize the oversaturation of love songs in music and how they don’t mean as much as they used to.
