Yazmin Aziz is a 19-year-old Malaysian-Filipino singer and songwriter living in Kuala Lumpur who has released two original songs in English and one in Bahasa Malaysia. Her latest single is called “COLD RAINY DAYS”.
Yazmin takes pride in spreading her music in Malaysia and overseas, especially in the Philippines where she has gained popularity. She has represented Malaysia numerous times in international competitions which gave her the experience of performing in five different countries and the ability to sing in four different languages. Yazmin has also performed for two world leaders including a duet performance with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.
All of Yazmin’s songs have a storytelling feel as these are based on her personal life experiences. She enjoys writing on themes which her listeners can relate to. Apart from showcasing her vocal versatility, Yazmin also enjoys composing songs which gives listeners a feel-good vibe.
Recently, Yazmin has worked on a quarantine inspired song about a long distance relationship she calls “Soul Connection”. To give it an added long distance feel, she worked across borders with a Filipino-German Producer and Philippines’ Homeworkz Music for distribution. This song is aimed for release this November 2020.
During the pandemic, apart from working on new songs and collaborating with artists overseas, Yazmin also bagged a Silver medal in the Virtual World Championship of Performing Arts where she represented Malaysia and was also a selected contributor for HitRecord’s “Project Power” Rap Cypher + Music Video.
While completing her education locally, Yazmin looks forward to reworking and releasing more of her original songs in the near future. She also stays optimistic about performing locally and abroad again once the borders reopen.
