The 20-year-old, who was born in Germany and moved to Thailand when she was 10, is already huge in her home country. Now she’s set for worldwide prominence!

Jannine is an artist who connects on a universal scale at the same time as forming an intimate bond with her fans. Her music career began not long after she moved to Thailand when, as a teenage Taylor Swift obsessive, she started her own YouTube channel and began uploading covers of her favourite songs. The reaction was immediate and her captivating versions of tracks caused them to go viral around the globe – her beguiling take on Charlie Puth’s ‘See You Again’ was shared by the actor Ashton Kutcher and American rapper Lil Wayne, amongst others.
“The amazing support I received from people watching and commenting on my videos really gave me the push to pursue my dream of becoming a singer,” she explains. “Their support and positivity inspired me to become a full-fledged artist.”
Jannine is an artistic force of nature. Although she has only just turned 20, Jannine has already embarked on a successful career as an actor, model and influencer. But singing has always been her biggest passion.
“I’ve been acting in TV shows and dramas since I was 14, and I’ve done some modelling too, but singing is what truly makes me happy,” she says. “I love how music can affect people and how a song can evoke raw emotions in all of us.”
She became the first Thai artist to receive a coveted Gold Button from YouTube and, over the course of several singles and EPs, she built a diehard fanbase in Thailand. Her rising popularity led to attention further afield and last year she was nominated for Best Southeast Asia Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Seville.
On 18th September, Jannine Weigel released her new single “Passcode” which was produced by the Grammy-nominated record producer Tommy Brown, renowned for his work with Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Fifth Harmony and more,
‘Passcode’ is a euphoric dance-pop anthem. It was co-written by Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez and it’s a song equipped with the sort of irresistible chorus that’s bound to get stuck in your head.
The single is accompanied by a dazzling video directed by Philip Rom Kulleh. Some of Malaysia and Thailand’s biggest TikTok influencers feature amongst the cast of the video, shot and produced in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“I’m so excited for everyone to hear ‘Passcode’!,”Jannine shared before the release. “I love that it captures my personality perfectly – fun and bubbly, but with a little bit of an edge.”
