Hollywood is coming out with more and more live-action remakes and the latest to join the list is Tom And Jerry!
No one probably ever asked for a Tom And Jerry live-action remake, but Warner Bros just announced that Ken Jeong, Rob Delaney, Jordan Bolger and Pallavi Sharda will be joining Chloe Grace Moretz, Colin Jost and Michael Pena in the movie!
While no human faces were ever revealed in the original cartoon series, the remake has casted Ken Jeong to play Jackie, Delaney to play Dubros, Bolger to play Cameron and Pallavi Sharda to play Preeta.
We can’t wait to see how the human cast fits in with Tom and Jerry. The cartoons never let you get a peek at the human characters’ faces, but this version, like the animated movies, will have a fleshed-out human cast to aid the story.
The live-action remake will tell the story of “Tom the Cat and Jerry Mouse getting kicked out of their home and relocating to a fancy New York hotel. A scrappy hustler named Kayla has taken a job there, but she will lose her employment if she can’t evict Jerry before a high-class wedding at the hotel. Her solution? Hiring piano playing Tom to get rid of the pesky mouse.”
The character Kayla will be played by Chloe Grace Moretz but besides that we don’t know how the other characters will fit in the story.
Will the movie feature Tom and Jerry that resemble more to their animal counterpart or a nightmare CGI like Sonic The Hedgehog? Nobody knows.
But one thing’s for sure, the cat and mouse duo will be silent animated characters, so we won’t have to picture anyone voicing them and possibly ruining our childhood.
