Rangers, are you ready to head back to Angel Grove? Because it seems like Hasbro is!

While the 2017 Power Rangers movie seemed to be loved by many die-hard fans, unfortunately the movie did not do as well in the box office.
The new modern take on the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers sadly received mixed reactions from viewers and did not make the impact expected upon the movie’s release.
Now, according to Dacre Montgomery, who took on the role of the Red Ranger, it seems that new parent company, Hasbro, has decided to move on in a different direction when it comes to the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.
And unfortunately, that new direction does not involve Dacre or any of his other cast mates.

During an “Ask Me Anything” thread on Reddit, Dacre was asked about the future plans for more Power Rangers movies to which he answered:
“I think there is a movie in the works but it’s not with me and the cast,” he said. “So yes but not with us.”
Hasbro has yet to make any formal announcements about any future Power Rangers movie plans.

Hasbro’s CEO, Brian Goldner however, has expressed his desire to create a new feature film and even went as far as to call it a sequel.
He explained that Power Rangers provided a “significant opportunity for growth given where the brand has been most recently. Hasbro will work with a film studio to develop a new Power Rangers movie as a follow-up to the 2017 release.”

So, a sequel minus the 2017 cast? We’re skeptical but hopeful. Would you watch the Power Rangers sequel without the same cast?
