It has officially been confirmed that the live-action remake of Aladdin will be getting a sequel!

Recent reports have confirmed that Disney is indeed moving forward with the plan to continue remaking their animated classics. However, if you’re expecting The Return of Jafar, you might be disappointed.
Disney has hired a pair of writers to pen the script of an original story that is not based on any of the animated Aladdin sequels.
After the incredible success of the first live-action remake, many have been waiting for news of a sequel.

According to Variety and THR respectively, the cast is expected to return with Guy Ritchie helming the sequel as well. These reports however have yet to be confirmed.
Over in the Twitterverse, fans are divided over their excitement for Aladdin 2.
We can’t wait to see what a new story from Aladdin would be like!
