The world of Aquaman is about to expand!
After the huge success of the superhero movie, Aquaman will be getting a spinoff! And not just any spinoff, it will be a horror spinoff helmed by James Wan himself.
As reported in The Hollywood Reporter, James will be producing a “horror-tinged script” from newcomers, Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald. The movie will be a direct spinoff of James’ Aquaman.

And what would this horror spinoff be about? The Trench.
For those of you who have seen Aquaman, you’ll remember seeing the amphibian species attacking Mera (Amber Heard) and Arthur (Jason Momoa) on their boat. The Trench is both the name of the species and the place that they come from, which used to be a part of the kingdom of Atlantis that sunk. The inhabitants were cut off from other survivors and then evolved into ravenous monsters.

Aptly, the upcoming spinoff will be called The Trench.
No other information about the spinoff has been released but we’re already excited for it!
