Since the sad passing of the actor, fans all over have been wondering how the highly anticipated sequel to Black Panther would proceed.
Would they recast the iconic role that Chadwick embodied? Or would they proceed without a Black Panther? We now have an answer.
In honour of the late actor, Marvel has decided to not recast Chadwick.

During the recent Disney’s Investors Day where an array of movies and series were announced, Marvel’s chief Kevin Feige paid respect to the actor and addressed how they would be honouring Chadwick’s legacy, saying:
“I wanted to acknowledge the devastating loss of a dear friend and member of the Marvel Studios family. Chadwick Boseman was an immensely talented actor and an inspirational individual who affected all of our lives professionally and personally. His portrayal of T’Challa the Black Panther is iconic and transcends iteration of the character in any other medium from Marvel’s past.”
“To honour the legacy that Chad helped us build through his portrayal of the king of Wakanda, we want to continue to explore the world of Wakanda and all of the rich and varied characters introduced in the first film.”

Ryan Coogler will return to helm and write the sequel, which is still set for release in July 2022.
While we now know that the sequel will explore more of Wakanda and its character, the plot still remains tightly kept under wrap.
We definitely respect the decision to honour and not replace Chadwick as Black Panther, because, let’s be real, no one could.
Wakanda forever.
Do you agree with the decision to not replace the actor’s iconic role? Let us know!
