Marvel and Pixar fans, the crossover you never expected in on it’s way as Chris Evans is now set to voice Buzz Lightyear in an upcoming origin movie!

Disney recently revealed their upcoming lineup, which consists of 10 Marvel series, 10 Star Wars series, 15 Disney animations, Pixar and live action series; and 15 new movies, and of course, with such a variety, fans are super excited.
One of the new animated movies that’s due to arrive in June 2022, is called Lightyear and according to Pixar, it’s the “definitive story of the original Buzz Lightyear”.
Along with the introduction of origin movie, the animation studio shared that Chris Evans is set to voice the titular role.
Pixar also shared the first look at the “young test pilot that became the Space Ranger we all know him to be today.”
Before you start questioning where Tim Allen, who voiced Buzz in the Toy Story franchise, is, it’s important to note that the upcoming movie is not about the iconic toy but rather the man who inspired the toy.
There definitely has been a lot of confusion on social media regarding the actor’s new role with many questioning why Chris was replacing Tim, but of course, that isn’t the case.
Chris took to Twitter to explain and clear up the situation saying, “And just to be clear, this isn’t Buzz Lightyear the toy. This is the origin story of the human Buzz Light that the toy is based on.”
The actor also took to Instagram to share his happiness on the new voice role and shared that the yet-unkown-plot is one that had him smiling from “ear to ear”.
We’re definitely ready to go to infinity and beyond with Chris Evans!
