Home Alone (1990)

- Director Chris Columbus thought that it would be cruel to make fun of a real girl for the scene of the ugly photo of Buzz’s girlfriend, so they actually used the art director’s son to be featured in the photo instead.
- Daniel Stern, the actor who played Marv wasn’t all too excited about the tarantula scene - you know the one where Marv had Buzz’s tarantula on his face. Well, he only agreed to do the scene on the condition that they do only one take. Aaaand he didn’t actually scream in the scene. As the noise would only scare the spider away, he mimed the reaction and his scream was dubbed in later.
- You know the ornaments that Marv steps all over? The look super real but they’re actually made of candy!
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

- Anthony Hopkins recorded all his narration in one day.
- Eddie Murphy and Jack Nicholson were considered to play the role of The Grinch instead of Jim Carrey.
- In order to imitate snow, the film used 1,938 candy canes, 8,200 ornaments, 45 make-up artists, 443 different outfits and 152,000 pounds of crushed marble.

- The scene where the fake Santa chases Buddy had to be done in one take, because it was too hard to rebuild everything.
- Will Ferrell actually had headaches throughout filming from eating all the sugary food.
- The iconic scene where Buddy eats all the different candies and pastries with the spaghetti noodles had to be shot twice because Will Ferrell vomited during the first take.
- The plans for a sequel were scrapped when Will Ferrell turned down the 29-million-dollar role.
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)

- Several cameras froze during the production of the film because it was too cold. And this is the ONLY Home Alone film that featured real snow.
- Michael Jackson actually visited Macaulay Culkin on set.
- Towards the end of the film, we know that Kevin had spent $967 on room service. But what did he actually order? Here goes: Two chocolate cakes, six chocolate mousses with chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream topped with M&Ms, chocolate sprinkles, cherries, nuts, marshmallows, caramel syrup, chocolate syrup, strawberry syrup, whipped cream, and bananas, six custard flans, a pastry cart, eight strawberry tarts, and 36 chocolate-covered strawberries.
