The final movie in the Skywalker saga is almost upon us and a lot of anticipation has been built for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

But there’s one part of the upcoming movie that fans are not looking forward to and it has to do with Ed Sheeran.

The upcoming movie will see some cameos from some familiar faces that are not usually a part of the galaxy. One of them that’s been confirmed is Lin-Manuel Miranda.

One of the cameos that has been long rumoured in the universe has been Ed Sheeran, and a recent special look behind-the-scenes of the movie has seemingly confirmed that the singer would indeed be playing a role.

That role? A Stormtrooper.

The special look brings some tears to our eyes as the behind-the-scenes look gives us a taste of what the Skywalker saga has been like from the very beginning with special shots of the fans, cast and crew.

But unfortunately for the singer, fans were not happier to see Ed dressed as a Stormtrooper in it.

Fans have been thinking out loud on the Twitterverse and sharing their distaste at having Ed be a part of the Star Wars galaxy.

While fans may be angered, a representative for Disney (through Entertainment Weekly) did caution that neither Ed or Lin-Manuel have been confirmed to appear in the upcoming movie. They’ve noted that the footage from the special look is from “fan events over the years.”

While we still do not know if Ed will actually appear in the movie or if he’s cameo will even be significant, we’re good with having this familiar face (which will be covered anyway…) in the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

What are your thoughts on Ed’s cameo in the movie? Should he even be there or nah? Let us know!
