Fans Are Over The Moon That Taika Waititi Will Be Directing A New ‘Star Wars’ Movie!

Star Wars Day may have just passed but we’ve still got  reasons to celebrate one of the world’s favourite franchises as it was recently reported that a new Star Wars movie is on its way!

What’s more? Taika Waititi is set to direct the new movie!

To make Star Wars Day a little bit better, Walt Disney Studios announced that the Thor and Jojo Rabbit director will be helming the franchise’s latest project.

Taika will not only be directing the movie, he will also be co-writing the screenplay alongside Krysty Wilson-Cairns who co-wrote 1917.

Rumours have been going around since the start of the year that Taika could be directing a new movie. The director, who recently won an Oscar for his Jojo Rabbit screenplay and directed the first season finale of The Mandalorian; was named as one of the top choices to helm a new Star Wars movie by fans.

The official Star Wars page made the announcement that Taika would indeed be taking on the movie and fans are screaming in excitement!
