Star Wars fans, hang on to your seats on the Millennium Falcon for what could be the final ride.

At the recent D23 expo in California, USA, Disney dropped brand new footage from the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and we’re freaking out!
The new footage gives us the first look at the climatic showdown between Rey, played by Daisy Ridley; and Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver; amongst several other intriguing shots.
The story of a generation is honoured through the first parts of the new footage which is then followed by an epic battle between Rey and Kylo Ren amid a stormy sea.
From there, it only gets better. A massive fleet of Star Destroyers make themselves known while we see a new shot of Darth Vader’s helmet. Finn (John Boyega) and a new character named Jannah (Naomi Ackie) are seen together in a cockpit while our beloved C-3PO’s eyes glow red.
Fans even get a new glimpse of the late Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia and see a gang of heroes approaching a busy desert city.
But what takes the cake in the new footage of course is the end. But we’ll let you discover that on your own with the special look below.
Set to be released on 20th December 2019, The Rise of Skywalker promises to bring an end to the epic nine-movie saga that began all the way back in 1977 with Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.
Fans of the iconic and monumental franchise are taking over the Twitterverse with their thoughts and excitement about the upcoming movie.
