Horror movie fans, unite!

It’s been revealed that the viral video of the mysterious woman in the red kebaya was actually the teaser for Dukun, a locally made horror movie inspired by the true story or a murder case that happened in Malaysia.

Astro Shaw confirmed the film’s release date on Instagram yesterday.

The movie, filmed in 2007, was never released because it was too controversial as it was believed to be based on the sensationalised case of a singer-turned-bomoh convicted for the murder of Malaysian politician. The singer was found guilty of the murder and executed in 2001.

Dukun tells the story of a murder investigation involving the death of a Datuk Jefri (played by Adlin Aman Ramli) at the hands of a bomoh, Diana Dahlan (played by Datuk Paduka Umie Aida).

The film looks super scary and so so good! We cannot wait to watch it in cinemas. Though according to Rojak Daily, a few scenes have been cut out from the version showing in the cinemas. Too scary kot?

Dukun premieres in cinemas this 5 April 2018!
