After an almost decade-long struggle it seems like Sony’s Uncharted movie is still in unknown waters especially with news that the movie has lost its director, again.

The video-game-movie which has Tom Holland signed on to play lead character, Nathan Drake, has hit another snag with director Dan Trachtenberg exiting the project, Deadline reports.
This will be the fifth director to sign on and subsequently leave the upcoming movie. Sony is said to be currently meeting with directors to take on the newly-available role.

Back in 2009 when the movie was first announced, David O. Russell was attached to direct the movie before being replaced by Neil Burger, Seth Gordon, Shawn Levy and Dan Trachtenberg respectively.
The movie has also gone through a variety of screenwriters and screenplays so far. Uncharted is supposed to premiere on 18th December 2020, and at this rate, we’re crossing our fingers and toes for the movie to stick to that date.

It seems like an awfully bumpy road for the Uncharted movie and we really hope that things will pull through for the better. Do you think we’ll see the movie by 2020?
