Our Spidey senses are tingling with good news! Spider-Man: Far From Home has officially passed the $1 billion  (RM4.12 billion) mark at the global box office and created a new record!

Just five days after Avengers: Endgame created history by surpassing Avatar and becoming the highest-grossing film of all time, Far From Home comes swinging in to make its own record.

According to Deadline, the latest Spider-Man movie became the first ever movie in the Spider-Man franchise to make over $1 billion at the global box office.

The movie is estimated to have passed its big milestone on Thursday (25th July) with a total of $1.005 billion (RM4.14 billion). Of that total, $333 million (RM1.37 billion) came from the United States and $672 million (RM2.76 billion) was made worldwide.

Comparatively, 2007’s Spider-Man 3 starring Tobey Maguire earned $891 million (RM3.67 billion) worldwide while 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming brought in $880.2 million (RM3.62 billion).

In case you were wondering, Far From Home gained the biggest interest in China, Korea, UK, Mexico and Japan!

Far From Home is also now Sony’s second-biggest movie globally and falls behind 2012’s Skyfall which collected $1.109 billion worldwide.

Congratulations Spider-Man: Far From Home! Who’s watched the web-swinging movie more than once in cinemas? We know we did!
