Director, Matt Reeves took to Twitter to announce that the actor has indeed been cast as the Wayne family’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth, and fans are positively delighted with the new addition to the movie.
“And here comes #Alfred,” Matt tweeted along with an adorable GIF of Andy.
Previously, it was reported that the actor was only in talks to take on the iconic role but nothing was set in stone, until now.
Andy has joined what is quickly becoming “one of the most exciting comic book crews in recent memory.” The actor joins Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, and Jeffrey Wright as GCPD commissioner Jim Gordon.
Colin Farrell is also said to be eyed to take on the role of Penguin, but that has yet to be confirmed.
