It’s no secret that the new Avengers movie will be the longest Marvel movie to date, with Avengers: Endgame having a whopping 182 minute runtime!
Which means that it will be a little over 3 hours!

It will also easily beat the 2 hour 30 minute runtime record set by Infinity War last year.
But if you think that this will be a test to your bladder (imagine needing to pee halfway through and you still have one and a half hours!) imagine what you’d do if you’ve watched these other Hollywood movies in the cinema!
Here are some other movies MUCH longer than ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
1. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)

Runtime: 3 hours 20 minutes
Wrapping up the very successful franchise by Peter Jackson, the previous two installments of ‘Lord of the Rings’ are no match to ‘The Return of the King’.
The first two include ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’, which has a runtime of 2 hours and 58 minutes, and ‘The Two Towers’, which has a runtime of 2 hours and 59 minutes. Still long. Still very very long.
2. The Godfather: Part 2 (1974)

Runtime: 3 hours 20 minutes
This franchise has two things in common with the previous franchise, being some of the most iconic movies in film history, and having equally long runtimes.
The first Godfather is still pretty long as well, with a nearly 3 hour runtime, and the third Godfather is even shorter with 2 hours and 50 minutes.
3. War and Peace (1956)

Runtime: 3 hours 28 minutes
Leo Tolstoy’s classic novel is a book with more than one thousand and two hundred pages, so it’s not a surprise when the film adaptation starring Audrey Hepburn converted the story to an epic for Hollywood.
The adaptation was created by six writers (!!!) about a love story between an aristocrat and a princess.
4. Lawrence of Arabia (1962)

Runtime: 3 hours 42 minutes
Back then, the movie was considered a technical marvel, regarded as one of the greatest motion pictures ever made and winning seven Academy Awards!
This epic starred Peter O’Toole, who played a British officer who unites the Arab people against the Turks during World War I.
5. Gone with the Wind (1939)

Runtime: 3 hours 42 minutes
This adaptation of Margaret Mitchell's book about a Southern family's struggles during the Civil War remains the top moneymaking film of all time, when adjusted for inflation.
‘Gone with the Wind’ also stars Oscar winning Vivien Leigh, who plays one of the best characters in cinema history, Scarlett O’Hara, and Hattie McDaniel as Mammy, who won the first Oscar given to an African American entertainer
6. Cleopatra (1963)

Runtime: 4 hours 3 minutes
At the time, it was the most expensive film in history! Elizabeth Taylor became the first actor to be promised a 1 million dollar salary for one movie, as well as holding a record by wearing 65 different outfits over the course of the four-hour film.
However, the film was described as ‘a boring history lesson’ by a few critics.
7. Gettysburg (1993)
Runtime: 4 hours 8 minutes
This adaptation of Michael Shaara’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book ‘The Killer Angels’ was supposed to be a miniseries, but the entire 4 hours plus was released as a film instead, which is why it is currently Hollywood’s longest film.
‘Gettysburg’ is about a three-day battle which many historians felt changed the course of the American Civil War, starring Jeff Daniels and Michael Sheen.
