Everyone knows the fallout of Sony and Disney over Spiderman’s deal and while its recently announced to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with a new agreement, it was actually Tom Holland himself that saved the day!

Tom Holland was reported to have reached out to both Disney CEO Bob Iger and Sony Pictures Chairman Tom Rothman multiple times after Sony decided to pull Spidey out of the MCU.

It was then that he made his emotional appearance at the D23 Disney Expo that got fans go crazy after his speech and starting #SaveSpiderMan that put pressure on both Sony and Disney.

Your support means the world. Thanks philly for having me.

“It’s been a crazy week,” he said, “but I want you to know I am grateful from the bottom of my heart, and I love you 3,000.”

Disney previously wanted a 50/50 cut on all Spider-Man films revenue instead of the initial 5 percent deal, and that lead to the fallout between the two companies and Spider-Man being cut from the MCU.

The new deal will reportedly see Disney to “receive roughly 25% of the profits” from the third Spider-Man movie in the MCU and Disney keeping the merchandising rights.

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” says Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who will also return to produce the movie.

“Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse, you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

Looks like Tom not only saved the day in the movies, but for the fans in real life too!

Tom could also possibly appear in future Sony’s Marvel Universe movies, but for now we are just glad he’s back!
