Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have pulled out from the Han Solo film. With only a few weeks left of filming in London, it isn’t the news anyone expected. The directors issued a statement about their departure citing “creative differences” (a term often used when a director is fired by the studio) with Lucasfilm.

However, the untitled Star Wars anthology film remains scheduled for a May 2018 release, according to Lucasfilm. “A new director will be announced soon”, according to Kathleen Kennedy from Lucasfilm. Ron Howard is reportedly in talks with the studio to take on the role.
