If you’re a true Harry Potter fan, you would know about Voldemort’s weapon and horcrux, Nagini!

The slithering snake doesn’t have much of an origin story in the Harry Potter movies, but she’ll be in the upcoming movie Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald! And yes, it’s a she!

In the latest trailer for the movie, we see actress Claudia Kim playing the role of Nagini, a Maledictus that can turn into a snake at will, and will eventually stop being able to transform back to a human form.

“The slow transformation into a beast is beyond their control, but they aren’t destined to be evil,” book author JK Rowling explained in a tweet. “Maledictuses are always women, whereas werewolves can be either sex. The Maledictus carries a blood curse from birth, which is passed down from mother to daughter.”

We can’t wait to see how Nagini will eventually turn into Voldemort’s mysterious snake in the movie! What part about Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald are you really looking forward to?
