Ever since the first ever trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 dropped a couple of days ago, it seems like it’s been the talk of the town, and for good reason!
And while we’re still about six month away before the highly anticipated sequel hits the big screen, there’s already talks about a third movie in the Wonder Woman universe.

According to director Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 3 has already been “all mapped out”!
At the recent unveiling of the sequel’s trailer in Brazil, the director revealed that the storyline for the second movie was already in the works while they were making the first movie.
Now, it looks like history has repeated itself because while creating Wonder Woman 1984, the director and star, Gal Gadot, have already made plans for the follow up movie.
“We actually already know the whole story to [Wonder Woman 3] and then some because there is an Amazon [spinoff] movie as well and so we already have it all mapped out,” Patty told Collider. “It’s just a matter of will we change our minds and when.”

Before you get too excited about the third movie, the director did note that there is one downside, which is that the wait between Wonder Woman 1984 and Wonder Woman 3 will be longer than the wait between the first and second movie.
“I think what we don’t want to do is do it back to back,” she said. “It’s been great doing these two movies back to back, but I think it’s important to give it a little rest in between. And I like doing other things in between. And Gal has other things to do. I never want to make decisions too far in advance. We have to see if we both feel like making the movie we think we want to make when the moment comes.”

Bear in mind though that a greenlight for a third movie all depends on how well the sequel does in cinemas when it hits the big screen in June 2020.
But of course, just based on the trailer that was released, we don’t doubt that the sequel will do great!
With the promise of an Amazon spin-off and a third movie already planned, we can’t wait for more adventure with Diana Prince!
