Disney is not done with live-action remakes just yet and according to recent reports, they’ve added another classic animated movie to the mix!
This time, it’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire!
Possibly on the list of Disney’s most underrated movies, Atlantis: The Lost Empire is now reportedly going to have its own live-action movie and has “entered development at the studio”.
According to Disinsider, the project has been on the studios’ radar for the past couple of months but it doesn’t have any writers or a director attached just yet. However, the studio is “looking to get a shortlist of names ready very soon”.
For those who may not remember, Atlantis: The Lost Empire follows the story of Milo Thatch, a naïve but determined museum cartographer who dreams of completing the quest begun by his late grandfather, a famous explorer. The inexperienced young adventurer becomes the key to unraveling an ancient mystery when he joins up with a group of daredevil explorers to find the legendary lost empire of Atlantis.

We can definitely get on board with some of these cast suggestions!
So far, the live-action remake is being eyed for a theatrical release but “it is early and things can change.”
In meantime, we’ll just be here, patiently waiting to see what a live-action Atlantis: The Lost Empire would look like…
