This classic version directed by Tim Burton, and starring Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as Joker is the one every 80s and 90s kids grew up watching. It’s set in a version of Gotham City that is still very much sceptical of Batman.
On the other hand, Joker sees the attention Batman is receiving and wants to reign terror over the metropolitan instead.
#2 Batman Returns, 1992

Directed by Tim Burton as well, this sequel to the Batman film series stars Michael Keaton again as the superhero while Danny Devito plays Penguin and Christopher Walken is Max Shreck. Entrepreneur Max teams up with Penguin to take down Gotham City.
This is also the movie where Batman and Catwoman, played by Michele Pfeiffer, develop their romance.
#3 Batman Forever, 1995

The third instalment has Val Kilmer replacing Michael Keaton as Batman. This time, Batman has to go up against Two-Face and The Riddler.
With their own agendas, the two villains team up to plot revenge against Batman. In this movie, Bruce Wayne also adopts orphaned Dick Grayson, who discovered that he’s actually Batman and then became Robin.
#4 Batman & Robin, 1997

In the fourth and final instalment, Tim Burton had nearly zero involvement in the movie as Joel Schumacher directed while Peter MacGregor-Scott became the sole producer. George Clooney also took over as Batman.
As for the plot, just when Batman is geeting used to working with Robin, he has to learn to work with Batgirl as well. Together, they have to take down the insane Mr. Freeze and seductive Poison Ivy.
TV Series
While movies are great, they’re mostly centred around the Dark Knight himself. So, what about all the side characters and villains? These TV series will delve deeper into the side stories!
#5 Gotham, S5 Episode 1-8

This series talks about what Gotham City was like before Batman’s arrival. It focuses on Detective James Gordon as he solves various different crimes and mysteries around the metropolitan.
#6 Pennyworth, S2 Episode 1-8

Perhaps you’re a huge fan of Alfred Pennyworth, the Wayne family’s beloved butler. Throughout the comics, movies and other TV shows, he’s shown a great intelligence and skilful fighting capabilities.
In this series, you’ll get to see his life in the special forces in London and how he wound up working for the Wayne family.
Cartoons

#7 Batman: The Brave and The Bold
Batman always says he prefers to work alone but in this cartoon series, he works with many other superheroes to fight all sorts of villains. However, these supervillains aren’t the usual ones we see all the time.
#8 Scooby-Doo & Batman: The Brave and the Bold

This cross-over is something no one saw coming but turns out to be such an interesting combination. The storyline continues after The Brave and The Bold ended and for some odd reason, these two unlikely parties teamed up to fight against a supervillain.
