Stop motion animated films are not easy to make and one of the most memorable of them is definitely 2000’s Chicken Run! And now it’s back for a sequel!
If you don't remember fully, this is the movie about a flock of chickens living on a farm who are trying to escape the deadly hands of the Tweedy family, that plan to turn the chickens into pies.
Chicken Run 2 is reported to already be in pre-production by Aardman’s Animation Studios, the same studio that made the first Chicken Run movie and the latest A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon.
"Well, all I can tell you is that there were a lot of chickens being made towards the end of our film,” said A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon’s co-director, Will Becher.
"We have a model-making team and, at one point, it was just full of sheep, but slowly over the course of the following weeks it became overrun with chickens.”
"So there is definitely an intention there and it was announced they are in pre-production on a sequel."
Sam Fell is reported to direct the film with original writers Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell to return for the sequel.
Chicken Run is the highest-grossing stop motion animated film in history when it was released in 2000, grossing over $224 million!
