First there was the news of Tom Holland playing Fred Astaire, and now fellow Avengers superhero Chris Evans is also reportedly sliding on his dancing shoes and getting ready to sing in the rain!
Though no official announcement has been made yet, reports share that Chris is in talks to portray the legendary actor and musical star, Gene Kelly in an upcoming biopic.

According to a source, the former Captain America came up with the idea for the film himself, which has Oscar winner John Logan attached to write the script.
According to Deadline, the movie will center around a 12-year-old boy who works on the MGM Lot in 1952 and begins to create an imagined friendship with movie star Gene Kelly while working on his next film.

Gene is a legendary Hollywood star with many roles attached to his name — actor, dancer, singer, filmmaker, and choreographer. For those unfamiliar, he is most known for his work in classics including Singin' in the Rain, An American in Paris and On the Town.
He was also famous for his energetic and athletic dancing style, his good looks, and the likable characters that he played on screen (sounds like Chris, right?)

The Pittsburgh born actor, who died in 1996, is credited with introducing ballet to film audiences and transforming Hollywood musicals. He was inducted into the Theater Hall of Fame in 1992 and is No.15 in the American Film Institute's list of Greatest Male American Screen Legends.
Besides the rumour that he will be working with John Logan (who will produce and write the script), Chris is also said to be producing the biopic project alongside Mark Kassen. Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman, who worked with Chris in Knives Out, have also signed on to the project via their T-Street Productions.
This is the second time that Chris is set to reunite with his fellow Knives Out actors. Not too long ago, it was announced that he and his Knives Out co-star Ana de Armas would be teaming up again in Ghosted after a scheduling conflict forced Scarlett Johansson to drop out.
The Avenger already has a busy year ahead of him, which includes Disney’s animated film Lightyear, in which he voices beloved Toy Story hero Buzz Lightyear. We’re really excited for this one!

Chris will also be starring in the Russo Brothers’ action flick The Gray Man, alongside fellow leading actors Ryan Gosling and Regé-Jean Page.
We definitely can’t wait to see Chris put on his dancing shoes!
