Many cartoons and anime have been made into live-action movies in the past but 2009’s Dragonball Evolution’s remake was considered one of the worst! Now Disney is reported to be making a remake too!
Sources have reportedly noted that Disney is planning to develop a new live-action Dragon Ball movie that will have a full Asian cast!
The movie is reported to be following the story from the first arc of Dragon Ball Z, where Son Goku battles his evil brother Raditz, then takes on Vegeta.
It is also said to feature Goku and his childhood adventures of looking for the wish-granting dragon balls as flashbacks!
The first live-action Dragon Ball movie in 2009 was not well received due to issues surrounding choice of casting, mainly how the movie took place in America and Goku’s character not being played by an Asian actor…
…and bad CGI effects.
We hope the new live-action remake will be good and it won’t repeat the same mistakes as Dragonball Evolution!
What are your thoughts on the new live-action remake? Let us know!
