Tom is said to be in early talks to play the wood carver and creator of Pinocchio as of now. Paddington filmmaker, Paul King, is set to direct the upcoming live-action movie.
The original Pinocchio was released in 1940 and was Disney's second animated film to be made after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937. For those of you who don't know, the story of Pinocchio was adapted from Italian author, Carlo Collodi's, story of a puppet crafted by an old woodcarver named Geppetto. The puppet was then brought to life by a fairy who tells him he will become a real boy if he shows bravery.

Currently, there is another Pinocchio movie being made with Guillermo del Toro set to direct. Not to be confused, Disney's version of the upcoming live-action remake is the one that's believed to have Tom on about as Geppetto.
No official word about the casting has been announced by Tom or Disney, but we're really hoping it's true!
