It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from the upcoming Fantastic Beasts 3. But now, Eddie Redmayne aka Newt Scamander, has shared an update and we’re feeling a little more magic in the air.

According to the actor at the Toronto International Film Festival, the movie’s production has been delayed with filming now beginning in early 2020 instead of mid 2019 due to J.K. Rowling reworking the script.
“Well, we’re meant to start shooting in the beginning of next year,” he said. “The script is still being worked on. That’s nothing – I’m literally giving you nothing! I’m trying to do that thing of talking about it and saying nothing, because of the fear of getting told off. But no, it’s happening, and it’s really exciting.”

For fans, it’s great to hear that the script is being reworked on even though it might be taking some extra time.
Back in February 2019, former Warner Bros. exec, Kevin Tsujihara, admitted that The Crimes of Grindelwald was a disappointment and many fans agreed. He noted that the author was working on the third movie’s script to make it better.
“The second film didn’t perform as well as the first but I think we know what we need to do to get the third film hopefully even better than the first one,” he said. “And J.K. Rowling is really working hard now on that third script, and we’re going to get it right. She has an incredible vision of where she wants to go with this that is incredibly exciting.”
“The hardest part of the franchise is you have such a big core fan base,” Kevin added. “That fan base really knows the lore and they want to go deep into these characters. But what you don’t want to do is intimidate people. You want to be able to create a stand-alone movie that’s enjoyable for someone who isn’t steeped in the lore.”

Though it’s been delayed, we’re still looking forward to Fantastic Beast 3 and we can only imagine what J.K.’s mind will churn out to make the third movie “better”!
What do you think will happen in the third movie now?
