Iron Man 3 could have been an entirely different movie and it’s all because of the Mother of Dragons aka Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones.

Both Marvel and Game of Thrones fans have had one thing in common in the past month, the heartbreak from the ending of a great story. While in completely different universes, 2019 saw the ending of both the Infinity Saga and the World of Westeros.
As the Infinity Saga ended with Avengers: Endgame making its way into cinemas over the past month, many fans are still reeling from all the events that took place.

And with the last episode of Game of Thrones airing in the past week, fans have also been left saddened by the ending of a great series that spanned over eight years.

According to filmmaker, Drew Pearce, these two universes could have crossed way back in Iron Man 3.
Drew, who was the screenwriter of Iron Man 3, noted that Emilia was originally cast in the movie but was taken out due to script changes and did not eventually participate in the production of the movie.

In a post reminiscing his Iron Man 3 days in 2012, Drew said:
“My finest hour: at an early Iron Man Three table read. Downey, Cheadle, Emilia Clarke (long story, the script changed)… all vaguely terrifying.”
It has not been revealed as to what role exactly Emilia would have played in the movie but fans are speculation that she could have been set to play the Extremis scientist played by Rebecca Hall or she could’ve had a role that was completely re-written.

It would have definitely been interesting to see Emilia in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What role do you think she would have played and who else from the GoT world would you have wanted to see in the MCU?
