Some of you might’ve watched the 1982 alien film called E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial before and cried at the ending and if you did, prepare to cry again because E.T is back!

The infamous alien is back in a sequel… well kinda. E.T is back on earth and reunites with Elliot and meet his family 37 years after the original movie in a short commercial video!

Henry Thomas, the original cast that played Elliot reprise his role and introduced his family to the alien before celebrating the holidays with him.

The video features some iconic scenes and lines from the original film and this is the “sequel” we didn’t know we needed!

“The audience is going to get everything they want out of a sequel without the messy bits that could destroy the beauty of the original and the special place it has in people’s minds and hearts. It’s really a win-win,” said Henry Thomas.

“Looking at the storyboards, I could see exactly why Steven [Spielberg] was really behind it because the integrity of the story isn’t lost in this retelling.”

The original movie tells the story of an alien that got stranded on earth and was discovered and befriended by a boy named Elliot and how Elliot and his siblings help E.T. return to his home planet while attempting to hide him from the government.

Considered as one of the greatest films of all time, the blockbuster was acclaimed by critics as a timeless story of friendship and won four academy awards!
