While the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con unveiled almost all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4 plans, fans weren’t as happy about the lack of Black Panther 2 news from Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige.

From Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to Thor: Love and Thunder, it seems like Marvel has big plans for Phase 4 but unfortunately not much has been revealed about Phase 5 just yet.

But if you’re worried about the fate of Black Panther, you don’t need to worry too much about it as the studio’s president has confirmed that there are definitely plans for a sequel to one of 2018’s biggest movies and the movie is said to already be in pre-production.

Not much detail is known about Ryan Coogler’s upcoming Black Panther 2 just yet but a new villain will most likely be featured. The question remains as to which villain will be making an appearance in the movie.

According to We Got This Covered, our very own Henry Golding who made a name for himself in Crazy Rich Asians, is reportedly being eyed for a role as one of Marvel’s first anti-heroes, Namor.

Marvel fans will be familiar with the Sub-Mariner who is the offspring of an Atlantean princess and an American explorer, and is definitely a force to behold. While Namor “occasionally leaves his kingdom to work with – or fight against – humanity, Atlantis is always his utmost priority.”

Fans who remember Avengers: Endgame, will recall that Namor may have already been teased in the MCU by Okoye.

During the five year time jump, Black Widow is seen getting updates from Okoye and other Avengers during a hologram meeting.

Okoye briefly mentions something about oceanic seismic activity off the coast of Africa. When Natasha Romanoff asks her how Wakanda will deal with the issue, Okoye quickly dismisses the threat by stating that they’ll “handle it by not handling it.”

Could this have been the foreshadowing of Namor? Fans sure seem to think so.

Henry definitely has some huge fins to fill if he is indeed one of the actors that’s being eyed for the role as Namor, the Sub-Mariner.

Do you think Henry would make a good Namor? If not, who do you have in mind to play the villain?
