Disney has been taking their classic animated movies and turning them into live-action reboots in the recent years and another film is set to have a live-action reboot too!

Rumours have been going around about an upcoming live-action Hercules remake and it looks like it’s proven to be true with Disney going the distance for a reboot!

Disney confirmed that the beloved animated film will be adapted into a live-action with Avengers: Endgame directors, Joe and Anthony Russo to serve as producers with their AGBO production company!

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) alum Dave Callaham, who recently wrote the script for the upcoming Marvel movie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will also join the reboot to pen the script.

Iron Man director, Jon Favreau, who also played Tony Stark’s personal chauffeur, Happy Hogan in the MCU, is rumoured to direct the remake too! Superhero team up!

The original animated classic in 1997 was a musical fantasy retelling of the Greek mythology and follows the story of a young Hercules, the son of Zeus, who was turned into a demi-god and exiled from Mount Olympus after the evil plans of the god of the underworld, Hades.

Tate Donovan and James Woods voiced Hercules and Hades in the 1997 movie with Danny DeVito as the hoofed trainer Phil, Susan Egan as Hercules’ love interest Meg, the late Rip Torn as Zeus who challenged his son to commit trials of strength and humility in order to achieve godhood.

While it’s uncertain if Disney will keep the musical element that makes the original film great in the remake, many fans already have their ideal cast in mind, including Ariana Grande, Zac Efron, Tom Holland and more!

Are you excited to see Hercules go zero to hero in the live-action remake? Let us know who your perfect cast for the reboot is!
