Director James Gunn Has Been Fired From 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3'

Disney has fired writer and director James Gunn from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after some inappropriate jokes Gunn had tweeted awhile ago, recently resurfaced.

Alan Horn, Walt Disney Studios chairman said in a statement, yesterday:

“The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values and we have severed our business relationship with him.”

Gunn has been writing the script for Guardians 3, and the movie is supposed to begin shooting in Atlanta towards the end of this year for a 2020 release date.

It’s been only a couple of hours since the statement was released by Disney, but many Marvel fans have appeared to have moved on from James Gunn to Taika Waititi – director of Thor: Ragnarok

If Disney doesn’t tap Taika Waititi to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 then they’re doing this whole thing wrong.
