10 years after the release of Tron: Legacy, Disney has finally found a new lead for the movie's sequel!

Jared Leto has been confirmed to star in Tron 3 and he took the news to social media saying, “I’m struck with such gratitude for the opportunity to bring this movie to life, especially as both the original video game and the film affected me so deeply as a young child. The fact that I get to be a part of this new chapter is mind-blowing.”

The 48-year-old actor's attachment to the movie has been known for a few years now and he was so excited to confirm the news that he accidentally revealed the movie title too, and it’s called – Tron: Ares!

He said in the now edited caption that “I am so very excited and proud to confirm that YES - I will be starring in TRON: ARES. We will work as hard as we possibly can to create something that I hope you all will love.”

He added: “We have some very special ideas in store for you all... See you in the grid!”

Lion director Garth Davis has also been confirmed to helm the new Tron movie that will represent a new instalment in the film franchise instead of a direct sequel to Tron: Legacy and the original 1982 Tron movie!

Fans are excited to finally get a Tron sequel with many hoping Garret Hedlund and

Olivia Wilde will return and most importantly… Daft Punk to create the score for the movie!

No release date has been announced for the Tron sequel yet but sources state that it will be based on a character who was not seen in Tron and Tron: Legacy by the name of… Ares!

Looks like we’ll be seeing more of Jared Leto as Ares in future Tron movies! Let us know if you’re excited for the movie!
