Shhh… We've got news. John Krasinski is writing A Quiet Place 2!
After the incredible success of A Quiet Place, John—who thought the movie would be a once-in-a-career experience—told movie distributor, Paramount, to move on to someone else for the sequel.

John, who wrote and directed the first movie, told his wife and co-star, Emily Blunt that he preferred to leave the movie as a special experience they shared together.
"That was my intention for the movie itself," John said. "Then I had this small idea for a sequel, but I didn't think it would go anywhere. So, I said to the studio, 'Just go do the movie with somebody else.’"
Fast forward to a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter, John revealed that he is in fact, currently writing a script for the sequel.

While the studio was taking pitches from other filmmakers, John's sequel idea stayed with him and he spoke to producer Andrew Form about it.
"They heard some pitches, and I told Drew about this little idea. And he told me to think about it a little longer. And then I thought, 'This might really work.' So, I'm currently writing the sequel."

Back in April, the original writers of the silent horror, Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, were set to return to write the sequel for the film. The then-confirmed writers were such a sure thing that a release date was set for May 2020.
A Quiet Place was first written by Scott and Bryan, but when John came on board as director, he reworked the script, adding in crucial moments and details. He reworked the opening sequence and came up with backstories for the creatures. John also came up with little details like the sand trails for quiet walking, and, as we found out, he even played the monsters!
We're excited to see what John comes up with for the sequel!
