Jared Leto might be getting a lot of hate for his role as Joker in DC’s Suicide Squad but his new Marvel role is getting all the attention… and making many fans really confused in the new trailer.
Sony just released a new trailer for Morbius - played by Jared Leto and tells the story of a scientist that develops vampire-like powers after he attempted to cure his blood-disease.
Morbius made his debut in the Spider-Man comics and is often an anti-hero, sometimes villain, depending on the storyline.
Now the movie is released under Sony, which owns half of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and also Venom. But it is clear that Sony’s universe is separate from the MCU… until Spider-Man: Homecoming villain, Vulture appears in the Morbius trailer!
And to make things even more confusing, Sony also threw a Spider-Man cameo reference in the trailer, and not Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, but the one played by Tobey Maguire in the old Sam Raimi movies.
Fans are confused with the cameos in the trailer and its making them wonder which universe the movie will be taking place in and how it will all be linked in the movie itself.
While most fans are wondering what the future of these characters hold, other fans are praising how accurate Jared Leto’s character is compared to the comics!
Tom Holland was previously rumoured to appear in Venom 2 so we’re really excited to see what new deal Sony made with Marvel for their future movies!
