One Punch Man is undoubtedly one of the biggest and most ridiculous animes ever made, and a comedic genius of a series! And now it’s being developed into a live-action film!

Sony is reportedly developing a live-action movie adaptation of One Punch Man based on the manga series created in 2009!

The live-action movie will be written by Venom and Jumanji: The Next Level writer, Scott Rosenberg and produced by Air Arad of Arad production, which worked on Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the X-Men movies in the past.

The series first started out as a webcomic created by manga artist ONE, and was later adapted into a manga series by Yusuke Murata as well as an anime adaptation that went viral.

It follows the story of Saitama, an aspiring superhero that looks like nothing but an average guy, but happens to be the strongest person in the world.

He is constantly in search of a worthy opponent that’s strong enough to fight him because he’s bored by his ability to defeat any foe with a single punch (hence the title of the series) and spends his time training his protégé, Genos.

Fans on Twitter have mixed feelings over the news, with many sceptical over Hollywood’s ability to make good live-action adaptions that are based on anime ever since the let-down of 2009’s Dragonball Evolution.

Other users started casting who would be the perfect person to play Saitama, the suggested cast includes, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and… Pitbull.

Hollywood is making more live-action movie based on anime, with Cowboy Bebop, One Piece, Naruto and The Last Airbender to be the latest on the list of film adaptations.

What are your thoughts on the live-action remake and who is your perfect cast to play the characters? Tell us!
