A ton of rumours and speculations have been going around since Spider-Man 3 was first announced.
Many fans have been hoping that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would make an appearance in the upcoming movie and trigger the multi-verse but according to Tom Holland, that might not be the case.

Previously, it was announced that Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina would be reprising their roles as Electro and Doctor Octopus respectively in Spider-Man 3, which raised many eyebrows.
With that casting in place, fans of course have just been waiting for the announcement that Tobey and Andrew would be joining Tom’s Spider-Man and triggering a multi-verse.
However in a recent interview, Tom has denied these rumours and shared that Tobey and Andrew would not be appearing in the third movie.

In an interview with Esquire, the actor was asked about the two previous Peter Parkers’ return to Spider-Man 3, to which he said:
“No, no, they will not be appearing in this film. Unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me. But as of yet, no. It’ll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we’ve been making.”

Hmm… We’re still not convinced tbh.
As we all know, Tom has a reputation for revealing movie spoilers – this of course was evident during the Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame promo tour where Benedict Cumberbatch had to step in stop him from saying too much in interviews.
Even movie producers used to hide details from Tom.
“They do it all the time,” Tom shared. “In [Endgame], Robert Downey Jr.’s funeral scene, for the longest time I was under the impression that it was a wedding. I’m 100 percent sure that they’re still tricking me.”

Tobey and Andrew’s involvement (or non-involvement) in Spider-Man 3 aside, Tom opened up about the upcoming movie saying it’s “really impressive”.
“I can say that it’s the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made,” he told Variety. “You sit down, read the script, and see what they’re trying to do, and they’re succeeding. It’s really impressive. I’ve never seen a standalone superhero movie quite like it.”

So… do we believe Tom when he says that Tobey and Andrew are not in Spider-Man 3? Or do we remain skeptical…?
Hmm… We guess time will tell…
Do you think Tom’s telling the truth? Or do you think this is just another ploy to throw us all off? Let us know your thoughts!
