The Fast & Furious franchise has had many fans over the years since the first movie was released 20 years ago, but it looks like the end is nearing for the epic saga!
Vin Diesel has confirmed that the Fast & Furious saga will come to an end in 2024 with the final two movies released as a two-part finale.
"Every story deserves its own ending," Vin Diesel told The Associated Press in an interview.
"I know people are going to feel like it doesn’t have to end, but I think all good things should," he said. "There are reasons for a finale. I think this franchise has deserved it."
He also revealed that his daughter began shedding tears when he told her about the franchise coming to an end.
He revealed that Universal Pictures wants to end the saga in two parts with the two films potentially releasing in 2023 and 2024.
"This franchise was born from the pavement, from the concrete. The world just championed this underdog to a place where it has already surpassed all of these other franchises,” Vin said.
“But the franchise has a soul, and that soul has to rest."
Many fans have mixed reactions over the news, with many saying it’s a fitting end while others saying they have heard the last movies being the last more than once.
Director Justin Lin said, "we got together and Vin says 'I think we should think about closing up the saga now.”
"Nine is kind of the first film of the final chapter. We’re kind of reconfiguring everything, so that the next two movies should wrap up this amazing journey for these characters."
