The Emmy Awards took a turn for the better this year when director, Glenn Weiss, popped the question in the middle of his acceptance speech!
While accepting the award for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for the Oscars, Glenn turned his acceptance speech into a marriage proposal!
Speaking on stage, the director turned to his girlfriend and said, "Jan, you are the sunshine of my life, and Mum was right: don't ever let go of your sunshine. You wonder why I don't like to call you my girlfriend? Because I want to call you my wife."
Cue the waterworks. The Emmy audience erupted in cheers, many with shocked and joy for the couple. Glenn proceeded to invite Jan on stage and offered the ring his father used to propose to his mother.
