While Ariana already revealed that one of the songs would be named “Pete”, after her fiance, Pete Davidson, in June, she still caught some flak from fans on Thursday. One fan in particular critisized her through an Instagram comment, on releasing a song about her new romance. Ariana, was quick to clap back.
According to E!, she wrote “He’s my fiancé. This is my album. I’m an honest and emotional artist and human being and if my openness in my work isn’t for you, that’s OK; I won’t be offended. Still wishing ya’ll all the love in the world.”

Leave it to Ariana to deliver a clapback firm yet totally full of love and kindness. Eventhough she wanted to be clear about her stance on her authority to decide what’s included in her music, she still thanked the same commenter for their kind words about some of the other tracks.
Most of Ariana’s fans are shipping her engagement to Pete Davidson though. The couple surprised everyone when they got engaged just weeks into their relationship. They are also known to be very open about their feelings for each other, whether it be through Instagram comments, matching tattoos or now, through Ariana’s music.
