Speaking to TIME, J-Hope, Jimin, RM, Jin, Suga, V, and Jung Kook, discussed the honour of the bestowed title, their careers and the pride they have in representing Korea on a global scale.
"As a Korean, we love our country and we're proud of our country so much," RM said. "And it's even just an honour to be called an ambassador of Korean K-pop."
J-Hope added, "It's a real honour. We're proud that everything we do is giving off light."

The K-pop band developed a huge following around the world. They became the first Korean act to top the US Billboard 200 albums chart, a feat they accomplished twice this year with their albums, Love Yourself: Tear and Love Yourself: Answer.
On being asked why he thinks the band's music has resonated with so many people, Suga answered, "We said what other people are feeling—like pain, anxieties and worries. Even if there is a language barrier, once the music starts, people react pretty much the same wherever we go." He added, "It feel like the music really brings us together."
