If you’ve been binge-watching (and rewatching) Bridgerton, then you’ll definitely be familiar with the swoon-worthy Simon Basset played by Regé-Jean Page.
Fans of course have been loving the duke but now they want to see him in a different role. Possibly as the world’s most famous spy…
Ever since Daniel Craig announced that he would be leaving his iconic role as James Bond, the internet has been abuzz with many suggestions as to who would be the perfect replacement.
From Idris Elba to our very own Henry Golding, the suggestions have been endless and now Regé-Jean has been added to that list and is quickly becoming a fan-favourite.
Unfortunately however, the Bridgerton actor doesn’t think he’ll be taking on the 007 role anytime soon.

On a recent appearance of The Tonight Show, Regé-Jean shared his opinion on becoming the next MI-6 agent.
“I think there might be an element of cultural translation to be done here,” he said. “If you’re a Brit, and you do something of any kind of renown that people regard well, then people start saying the ‘B’ word. It’s like a merit badge. You get the ‘B’ word merit badge.”
“I’m very, very glad to have the badge,” Regé-Jean added. “I’m glad to be in such wonderful company of people who have the badge. But it’s a badge.”

Fans however are still rooting for the actor to become James Bond and have taken to social media to share their hopes for it to come true.
We can definitely see Regé-Jean as James Bond!
