After an interview with Vogue, reports surfaced that Selena Gomez is thinking of retiring from the music business.
While fans took to social media to express their emotions over the singer’s decision, one rapper has come out to share that she doesn’t think Selena should retire.

Speaking to Vogue, Selena admitted that music may not be in her future forever.
“It’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously,” she said. “I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, ‘What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?’”
The singer went on to share that though she had released her “best song”, people still criticised her, which led her to think about retiring from the music industry.
“ ‘Lose You to Love Me’ I felt was the best song I’ve ever released, and for some people it still wasn’t enough,” she said. “I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music and for that I’m so thankful, for that I keep going.”
“But I think the next time I do an album it’ll be different,” she added. “I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music.”

Fans of course were not ready to say goodbye to Selena and took to social media to express themselves.
Cardi B who previously collaborated with Selena on “Taki Taki” was one of those who were not ready for the singer to leave the music industry and tweeted her support for Selena saying:
“I don’t think Selena should retire. She makes good music & her fans love her. I think she needs one more Era. A edgy one that no one ever seen her as. I would love to give her some ideas.”
In a separate tweet, Cardi went on to defend the singer’s decision, whatever the decision may be.
“I like Selena tho,” she tweeted. “I defend her cause she is such a sweetheart in person. Us celebs get picked apart all the time but she is just [too] sweet to go thru that. If she wants to leave, leave cause you want [to] not cause of these *******.”

Selena’s decision to retire from music is not final yet. The singer has not officially come out to say that she will be leaving the industry.
However, we hope that Selena will be happy with whatever she chooses to do next. But if she does retire, we’re crossing our fingers for one last “era” of Selena.
