Wildcats! The High School Musical reunion of you’ve been waiting for has just happened but unfortunately, not everyone is happy with how it turned out…

While the singalong went on without a hitch, fans felt like a huge part of the reunion was missing and it has everything to do with Zac Efron.

The recent The Disney Family Singalong special had fans everywhere screaming in delight especially when news first broke that a High School Musical reunion would be happening with Zac Efron on board.

Unfortunately, after the special aired, fans were left disappointed as one of their favourite actors couldn’t sing with his former co-stars.

Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the singalong special saw performances from Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, and more singing classic Disney songs, to entertain those who are currently staying home to stop the spread of COVID-19.

While the cast of HSM got together to bring back the iconic “We’re All In This Together”, sadly Zac could not join in the singalong due to “patchy WiFi”.

“Now just when you thought we couldn’t give you any more feels, I have a surprise for you,” Ryan said before introducing the actor. “This star is hunkered down in the middle of nowhere with patchy WiFi, but he does not want to miss out on tonight. He became a household name thanks to his earlier work as Troy Bolton in the High School Musical trilogy. It’s Zac Efron!”

Zac then appeared on video to address those watching the special and introduce his ex co-stars’s performance.

“Hi everyone, I hope that you’re safe, and that you’re healthy and you’re doing as well as possible during these unprecedented times,” the actor said. “It’s my greatest pleasure to introduce a musical performance by some of my oldest friends, and some new ones. I hope you enjoy – and remember: we are all in this together.”

After his short introduction, the HSM cast including Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman and Lucas Gabreel, gave fans everything they’ve been waiting for with their performance of “We’re All In This Together.”

Fans understandably were upset and disappointed that Zac did not join in on the singalong and they took to the Twitterverse to vent their frustrations.

We may not have gotten Zac Efron signing with the High School Musical cast but at least he an appearance. To be fair… he didn’t even sing in the movies… *shrug*

For now, we’ll just be singing “We’re All In This Together” all day because we still loved every bit of the singalong special!

Were you upset by the lack of Zac in the special? Let us know!
