Ever since Daniel Craig announced in August 2017 that he would be retiring from the James Bond franchise after one final film, the search for the next 007 began.
Many people suggested that Idris Elba suit up and become the first man of colour to play Bond, while others liked the idea of a female version of James Bond.
However, on Monday, Lee Smith, film editor of Spectre said: “Harry could do it”. As in your favourite One Direction member and recent star of Dunkirk.

While it was JUST a suggestion, it was a totally plausable suggestion! Think about it, director Christopher Nolan, who worked with Harry on Dunkirk, might also be directing the next James Bond movie.
While playing James Bond would definitely further Harry’s burgeoning film career, Idris Elba states a very good point. Idris isn’t interested in playing James Bond, but he thinks it’s time to do something “different” with the role.

James Bond has always been played by a white man. Idris asked Variety “Are we interested in having a Bond character other than being male?”. Saying “Could be a woman, could be a black woman, could be a white woman, but I think, that character, everybody would like to see it have – do something different with it, why not?”
Why not indeed. Teen Vogue suggests Taraji P. Henson for the role. She did just play a hitwoman in Proud Mary and definitely has the acting chops and suave stylishness to match a 007.

How about Rihanna? She will be starring in Oceans 8. She could take her sharp-shooting, fast-driving ways from music videos to the big screen. Wouldn’t you want to watch that?
