Matthew McConaughey, Interstellar actor, Oscar winner, famous meme and now a University professor!

The Texas actor is officially a professor of practice at the Moody College of Communication as a faculty member in the Department of Radio-Television-Film!

"We are proud to welcome Professor McConaughey to officially join our world-class faculty," said Moody College Dean, Jay Bernhardt. "Matthew cares deeply for our school and our students, and we are thrilled that he shares his time and talent to help prepare the next generation of media leaders and innovators."

The Oscar-winning actor has been co-teaching the Script to Screen film production class but will now be taking on the syllabus alone.

Matthew said, "It's the class I wish I would have had when I was in film school. Working in the classroom with these students gives me a chance to prepare them.”

"The frequency that he'll attend the Script to Screen course this fall all still just depends on his schedule,” said the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Moody College of Communications, Kathleen Mabley.

“Now as an official employee he has the ability to also mentor students, explore teaching other classes and participate in all of the University events.”

Can you imagine an Academy Award winner with over 50 films under his belt as your lecturer? We can't.

So if you have question you wanna ask about Interstellar that still confuses you, it's time for you to work hard and join the University of Texas!
