The collaboration between Shawn Mendes and Miley Cyrus that we’ve been waiting for has happened! And it was amazing!
The singers teamed up to pay tribute to Dolly Parton at the recent MusiCares gala that was honouring the legendary country singer.
And how did Shawn and Miley team up together in the first place? Well, Miley slid into Shawn’s DM, of course!
Speaking to Variety at the gala she said, “I actually sent him a DM and said I don’t know what you’re trying to do next because I’ve actually been in his position in his career too before where you’re someone who I think is trying to fit into pop music and you want to be played on radio but you don’t want to be conformist and you want to do your own thing. I love the way that he always kind of plays alternative pop because it’s something that I love to do.”
After setting off many rumours and speculations about a possible collaboration between the two singers, Miley and Shawn took to the gala stage accompanied by Mark Ronson. (swipe right to see the performance!)
Fans can be excited because Miley and Shawn are expected to perform again at tomorrow’s Grammy awards show!
We can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with!
